What dispensing volume justifies stepping up from B-3424-R4 to B-3924-R5?

The B-3924-R5 adds a fifth rollout drawer in a taller 39โ€ณ ร— 24โ€ณ ร— 20โ€ณ cabinet โ€” the practical threshold is around 200+ controlled scripts dispensed per day, or any pharmacy running multi-program Schedule II inventory (regular Schedule II SKUs plus narcotics-room rotation, for example). Both safes share the LaGard 702 lock, 29-code programming, and B-rated construction. If your daily script volume is under 150 controlled prescriptions and you're not running multiple programs, the B-3424-R4 covers it at $200 less.

How does the time-delay lock work, and can it be adjusted?

The LaGard 702 series electronic lock supports a configurable time delay between code entry and bolt retraction. Once a valid code is entered, the lock enters a countdown (commonly 1โ€“15 minutes, programmable) before the bolt retracts โ€” preventing impulsive access during a hold-up or after-hours intrusion. The lock stores 29 codes total: 1 manager code that can program and audit, and 28 user codes that can open but not modify. Delay time, code expiry, and audit log retention are configured by the manager code. We can walk you through programming over the phone after install, or include programming as part of GTA white-glove setup.

Is bolt-down installation mandatory for a 575 lb safe?

The B-3924-R5 ships with 4 bolt-down holes at the base and is bolt-down ready. Whether bolt-down is mandatory depends on two things: your provincial College of Pharmacy guidelines, and your insurance carrier requirements. Some provinces require bolt-down at all volume tiers; others require it above a Schedule II inventory threshold. Most insurance carriers require bolt-down for any controlled-substance safe. Our GTA white-glove install includes bolt-down service into a concrete floor; for sites outside the GTA, you coordinate bolt-down with your contractor at install time. We strongly recommend bolt-down regardless of mandate โ€” an unsecured 575 lb safe is still removable with the right equipment.

Does the B-3924-R5 meet College of Pharmacy requirements in my province?

The B-3924-R5 is built to provincial College of Pharmacy specifications across all Canadian provinces. The safe construction, time-delay LaGard 702 series lock, and supporting hardware together satisfy the storage requirements that Colleges of Pharmacy publish for Schedule II controlled substances. That said, each provincial College sets its own audit and bolt-down expectations โ€” Ontario, BC, and Alberta all differ on whether bolt-down is mandatory at certain volumes. If you want us to confirm fit against your province's current specifications, send us your College registration number and we'll cross-check before you order.

How do I organize multi-program inventory across 5 drawers?

Common organization pattern: drawer 1 for daily dispensing SKUs (most frequent rotation), drawers 2โ€“3 for regular Schedule II inventory by therapeutic class, drawer 4 for slow-mover or backup stock, drawer 5 for compounding components or program-specific inventory. Each drawer rolls out fully so you have clear top-down visibility. Audit-wise this also helps โ€” discrete drawer assignments make inventory counts faster during College or DEA-equivalent inspections. We can suggest a layout if you send us your typical Schedule II SKU mix.
