How does the time-delay lock work, and can it be adjusted?

The LaGard 702 series electronic lock supports a configurable time delay between code entry and bolt retraction. Once a valid code is entered, the lock enters a countdown (commonly 1–15 minutes, programmable) before the bolt retracts — preventing impulsive access during a hold-up or after-hours intrusion. The lock stores 29 codes total: 1 manager code that can program and audit, and 28 user codes that can open but not modify. Delay time, code expiry, and audit log retention are configured by the manager code.
