Heated glass door

Anti-condensation outer pane kept just above dew point. Contents visible without opening the door — reduces door-open frequency and stabilizes interior temperature.

Calibrated thermometer

Digital display with min/max recall for daily log readings. Calibration certificate included. Supports Health Canada vaccine storage documentation requirements.

High/low temperature alarm

Audible and visual alerts triggered by door-open excursion and temperature deviation. Factory calibrated before shipment.

USB data port

Direct USB extraction of temperature logs for compliance records. No proprietary software required — exports as standard CSV for audit and inspection files.

Adjustable shelving

Five reconfigurable shelves and storage baskets. Adapts to vial trays, insulin pens, and biologics storage formats without additional hardware.

Lockable door

Keyed lock standard. Meets College of Pharmacy requirements for controlled-substance-adjacent storage areas.

Self-closing door

Hinge mechanism returns the door to a sealed position automatically after each use. Prevents temperature drift from accidentally left-open doors during high-traffic dispensing periods.

Top cooling system

Patented forced-air cooling distributed from the top of the cabinet ensures inner temperature uniformity within ±0.5°C across all shelves. Eliminates hot and cold zones common in side-cooled units.

High-efficiency inverter compressor

Variable-speed compressor adjusts cooling output based on real-time demand. Reduces energy consumption by ~35% versus standard fixed-speed compressors and operates at significantly lower noise levels.

Is this model right for a walk-in vaccine clinic running 100+ doses a day?

Yes. The NOR-5L416 at 14.70 cu ft is the standard fit for walk-in flu, travel, and family practice clinics in the 80–150 daily dose range. The heated glass door lets staff confirm inventory without opening — which matters for temperature consistency at high throughput. For peak campaign periods (flu season, school programs), many clinics pair this unit with an NOR-5L42 under-counter as overflow storage. If your clinic handles 200+ doses per shift or runs central fill, step up to the NOR-5L606 or NOR-5L756.

Does the heated glass door affect energy consumption or temperature stability?

The heated glass door uses a low-wattage anti-condensation element that keeps the door panel just above the dew point — this is the standard across all NOR-5L models. The primary benefit is reducing door-open frequency: staff can see stock levels at a glance without triggering a temperature cycle. In high-throughput settings, this more than offsets the minor energy draw of the heating element. Overall energy use for the NOR-5L416 is consistent with standard 115V pharmacy refrigeration at this capacity.

What ventilation clearance does this unit require?

The NOR-5L416 requires a minimum of 4″ rear clearance and 2″ side clearance on both sides. Do not install in an enclosed cabinet or alcove without adequate rear ventilation — insufficient clearance is the leading cause of compressor overload in pharmacy settings. Front clearance should allow the door to open fully (approximately 27.2″ width + door swing). If your space is tight, share your room dimensions with us before ordering and we'll confirm fit.

Can a lock be added for controlled-substance-adjacent storage?

The NOR-5L416 ships with a lockable door as standard — keyed lock, included. This meets College of Pharmacy guidelines for pharmaceutical storage areas and is sufficient for vaccine and controlled-substance-adjacent refrigerated stock. For Schedule I–IV controlled narcotic storage specifically, a dedicated narcotic safe with a UL-rated time-delay lock is required by provincial pharmacy regulators — the refrigerator alone does not satisfy those requirements. See our Narcotic Safes category for StrongBox and Advance Series options.

What does white-glove delivery include for an upright model this size?

The NOR-5L416 ships upright on a pallet. GTA white-glove delivery includes inside placement into your suite or clinic area (not lobby or curbside drop), unpacking, and removal of all packaging materials. We do not include electrical connection — that's coordinated with your electrician or contractor. If you need us to align with your contractor on placement, mounting, or site requirements, we can do that at no extra charge — just let us know at the time of order. Contact us with your city, room dimensions, and target install date to confirm scope and schedule.
