How many of these filters does my hood need?

It depends on the hood width: 24″ and 36″ Purair units take 2 filters, and 48″ units take 4. For example, the P5-36XT takes 2 and the P5-48XT takes up to 4. Confirm your model before ordering, and Delmen can check the count for you.

Is this the right filter for the chemicals I handle?

The ASTS-030 is a HEPA filter, which captures powders and particulates. It is not the right media for solvent or chemical vapors — those require a carbon-based or chemically-rated filter. If your workflow involves vapors, send Delmen your chemical list and we'll match the correct filter type. Don't assume HEPA covers vapors, because it doesn't.

How often do I need to replace it?

Replacement interval depends on use, particulate loading, and application — there is no fixed calendar date. Watch your hood's low-airflow alarm, which signals when face velocity drops, and follow Air Science's recommended change schedule. Delmen can set up recurring filter orders so you don't run out.

Will this fit my Purair hood?

The ASTS-030 fits the Purair BASIC, FLOW, and PCR series in the standard 18″ × 18″ × 2″ form factor — including the P5-24XT, P5-36XT, P5-48XT, FLOW-24/48, and PCR-24/48. If you're unsure which filter your specific unit uses, check the hood compatibility chart or ask Delmen.
