Both carry the integrated methadone bottle holder, the same LaGard 702 time-delay lock and 29-code programming, and ship in white powder-coated finish. How does the integrated methadone bottle holder work?

The methadone holder is a slotted rack built into the drawer space — designed to accept standard pharmacy methadone bottle sizes upright, with separators between bottles to prevent shifting. It's a permanent integration; the rack is not designed to be removed and reinstalled on rotation. If you don't need methadone-specific organization, look at the StrongBox B-3222-R3 instead — same drawer count, no methadone-specific structure taking drawer real estate.

Methadone-specific program approval is a separate question that depends on your provincial methadone program registration and your College of Pharmacy methadone-dispensing endorsement. The safe itself satisfies the storage hardware requirements; the program approval covers your operation. Is bolt-down installation mandatory for the A-3020-R3?

The A-3020-R3 ships with 4 bolt-down holes at the base and is bolt-down ready. Whether bolt-down is mandatory depends on two things: your provincial College of Pharmacy guidelines, and your insurance carrier requirements. Some provinces require bolt-down at all volume tiers; others require it above a Schedule II inventory threshold. Most insurance carriers require bolt-down for any controlled-substance safe. Our GTA white-glove install includes bolt-down service into a concrete floor; for sites outside the GTA, you coordinate bolt-down with your contractor at install time. We strongly recommend bolt-down regardless of mandate — an unsecured 330 lb safe is still removable with the right equipment.

How does the time-delay lock work, and can it be adjusted?

The LaGard 702 series electronic lock supports a configurable time delay between code entry and bolt retraction. Once a valid code is entered, the lock enters a countdown (commonly 1–15 minutes, programmable) before the bolt retracts — preventing impulsive access during a hold-up or after-hours intrusion. The lock stores 29 codes total: 1 manager code that can program and audit, and 28 user codes that can open but not modify. Delay time, code expiry, and audit log retention are configured by the manager code.
