Why is the A-6024 classified as StrongBox despite the A-prefix?

The A-6024 sits in the StrongBox series per the Delmen catalog — the A-prefix here refers to its tall-format A-configuration cabinet, not the Advance product line. It carries StrongBox attributes: Made in Canada manufacturing, exclusive to the StrongBox Series, and the same lock and security spec as the rest of the B-series. The actual Advance Series equivalent at this footprint is A-6032, which uses metal shelves and a white powder-coated finish instead of the wooden shelves and black finish here.

How does the A-6024 compare to the A-6032?

Both safes share the 60″ × 24″ × 20″ tall-format footprint and seven-shelf configuration, but they're different products. The A-6024 (StrongBox) uses wooden adjustable shelves, ships in black, weighs 300 lb, and is manufactured in Canada. The A-6032 (Advance) uses metal adjustable shelves, ships in white powder-coated finish, weighs 450 lb, and has a slightly shallower 16″ depth. Both carry the same LaGard 702 lock. Choice depends on aesthetic preference, weight tolerance for your floor, and whether you prefer wooden or metal shelving for your inventory style.

Is bolt-down installation mandatory for the A-6024?

The A-6024 ships with 4 bolt-down holes at the base and is bolt-down ready. Whether bolt-down is mandatory depends on two things: your provincial College of Pharmacy guidelines, and your insurance carrier requirements. Some provinces require bolt-down at all volume tiers; others require it above a Schedule II inventory threshold. Most insurance carriers require bolt-down for any controlled-substance safe. Our GTA white-glove install includes bolt-down service into a concrete floor; for sites outside the GTA, you coordinate bolt-down with your contractor at install time. We strongly recommend bolt-down regardless of mandate — an unsecured 300 lb safe is still removable with the right equipment.

Does the A-6024 meet College of Pharmacy requirements in my province?

The A-6024 is built to provincial College of Pharmacy specifications across all Canadian provinces. The safe construction, time-delay LaGard 702 series lock, and supporting hardware together satisfy the storage requirements that Colleges of Pharmacy publish for Schedule II controlled substances. That said, each provincial College sets its own audit and bolt-down expectations — Ontario, BC, and Alberta all differ on whether bolt-down is mandatory at certain volumes. If you want us to confirm fit against your province's current specifications, send us your College registration number and we'll cross-check before you order.

What kind of institutional pharmacy deployment fits the A-6024?

The A-6024 is best suited for hospital narcotics rooms, institutional pharmacy back-of-house storage, multi-site backup inventory, and centralized controlled-substance storage for chains or health-authority networks. The seven adjustable shelves let you organize by therapeutic class, dispensing program, or rotation tier. The tall vertical format keeps floor footprint small while maximizing storage capacity — useful in narcotics rooms where wall space is at a premium. For environments running active methadone dispensing programs, the Advance A-3840-R10 may be a better fit since it carries the integrated methadone bottle holder.
