Canadian-made

Manufactured in Richmond Hill, Ontario by Amico Corporation. The longest base warranty in the category, with a domestic supply chain and Canadian support channel — no cross-border logistics or support.

LED optics

LED ophthalmoscope and otoscope standard across both the Base and Extended tiers. Brighter, truer colour rendition, and far longer-lasting than halogen — no bulb replacements, no degraded illumination over time.

Lifetime calibration

Optics calibration covered for the life of the station — no recurring calibration fees, no scheduled re-cal billing, for as long as the unit is in service. Coordinated through Delmen.

Single-vendor support

One manufacturer, one warranty, one support channel. Claims, parts, and calibration all run through a single Canadian point of contact via Delmen — no third parties, no handoffs between service teams.

Wall board included

Grey pre-finished wall board, transformer, and specimen dispenser ship with the station. No separate procurement of mounting infrastructure — everything needed for installation arrives in one order.

Auto on/off power

AC wall-powered with auto on/off mode. The station activates when instruments are removed from their holders and powers down when replaced — reducing standby draw and extending component life.

What's the difference between the Base and Extended tiers?

The Base ships with LED ophthalmoscope and otoscope, aneroid BP gauge, and specimen dispenser at CA$1,250.79. The Extended tier adds an integrated infrared (IR) thermometer mounted at the wall station — fast, non-contact temperature readings without a separate handheld. Everything else — the LED optics, Canadian manufacture, 7-year base warranty, and lifetime calibration — is identical. If your site already runs a separate temperature workflow, Base is the right tier.

Is the lifetime calibration handled by Amico or coordinated through Delmen?

Coordinated through Delmen. Calibration is an Amico-backed entitlement for the life of the station, but you don't deal with the manufacturer directly — Delmen schedules and coordinates calibration service as part of single-vendor support. One contact for warranty, parts, and calibration across the life of the unit.

Does “Canadian-made” qualify the unit for Canadian-content procurement requirements?

The Amico DS Base is manufactured by Amico Corporation in Richmond Hill, Ontario. Whether that satisfies a specific Canadian-content threshold depends on how your procurement framework defines and measures domestic content — different programs use different rules and percentages. We can supply the manufacturer's country-of-origin documentation to support your evaluation; confirm the qualifying criteria with your procurement office before relying on it.

How does the 7-year base warranty compare to the Welch Allyn 5-year?

Amico's base coverage runs seven years on the station base versus Welch Allyn's five years across components, and Amico adds lifetime optics calibration that the Welch Allyn warranty doesn't include. The trade-off is structure: Amico's coverage is compound (different terms for base, heads, BP aneroid, and calibration), while Welch Allyn is a single flat 5-year term across all components. Longer base coverage and lifetime calibration favour Amico for long-service-life and high-utilization deployments; the Welch Allyn is US-made with a simpler single-term warranty.

Can we add the IR thermometer later, or do we need the Extended tier upfront?

The integrated IR thermometer is a configuration of the Extended tier, not a field-add accessory — it's mounted and wired at the wall station during manufacture. If you anticipate needing integrated temperature at the wall, specify the Extended tier upfront. Sites that adopt a separate handheld thermometer later can stay on the Base; the two tiers are otherwise identical, so there's no downside to starting on Base if temperature isn't a wall-station requirement today.

Where does the WA-777 Standard fit your operation?

Three patterns where the Standard tier is the right fit, plus the case where the Premium upgrade earns its price.

01 · Cost-conscious & value

Lowest total cost in the category, without giving up coverage or optics.

Suggested models

Lowest entry price of the four wall-mount stations at CA$1,250.79

LED optics standard — no halogen, no compromise on illumination

7-year base warranty and lifetime calibration reduce total cost of ownership

Specimen dispenser included for general-diagnostic and collection workflows

Title

02 · Canadian procurement

Canadian-content requirement sites and publicly funded

buyers.

Suggested models

Manufactured in Richmond Hill, Ontario — domestic supply chain

Manufacturer country-of-origin documentation available for procurement files

Single Canadian support channel for warranty, parts, and calibration

Confirm qualifying criteria with your procurement office before relying on it

Title

03 · Integrated temperature needed

Sites that want non-contact temperature taken at the wall station.

Consider instead

If temperature is part of the wall-station workflow, not a separate handheld

Extended adds an integrated IR thermometer; the rest of the station is identical to Base

The IR thermometer is a factory configuration, not a later field-add
